For Editions, we may offer invoicing and payment plan options. By committing to this option, please note that you are entering into an agreement with ICA thereby committing to purchasing the work. If we agree that you may pay in instalments, all payments made will be viewed as a non-refundable deposit placed on holding the Edition until payment is completed. Collection and Postage:
You can collect your Bookstore purchase from the ICA Bookstore without appointment Tuesday – Friday 12pm – 9pm, although if you are making a large collection, please let us know to expect you by emailing
sales@ica.art.
Please make an appointment to collect an Edition by emailing
editions@ica.art. You may only collect Editions which are paid for in full. Editions are fully condition checked before dispatch/preparing for collection, and on collection you will be required to sign for your purchase, agreeing that it was collected in good condition.
If you purchase a delivery option, please allow:
UK, 2 – 3 days working days.
Europe, 3 – 5 days working days.
Rest of the World, 7 – 14 days working days.
Postage times may be affected by situations outside of our control. If this happens we will endeavour to keep you informed of revised postage times.
We will deliver your items to the delivery address which you supply when you place your order. All delivery times quoted are estimates only, based on availability, normal processing and delivery time.
Damage:
We are very sorry if you receive your item in a damaged condition. We always condition check items when we dispatch them, but unfortunately damage in transit can occur.
If your parcel arrives obviously damaged, please do not sign for it and ask the courier to return to sender.
When buying an Edition, please thoroughly condition check on receipt and inform us of any defects by emailing
editions@ica.art within 48 hours of receipt. We will consider your claim and where we determine that this damage was caused before you signed for the item we will exchange it for another of the same Edition or offer a refund only where there is no further stock available. In this scenario, please speak to us about organising return of the Edition free of charge.
Storage:
When purchasing an Edition and selecting the collect from ICA option, please note we can offer 4 weeks’ worth of free storage for large Editions (then £20 per week) and 6 weeks for small Editions (then £5 per week), unless we agree special terms with you at the point of purchase. Please email
editions@ica.art with any questions regarding storage and collection.
Storage fees do not apply when we have told you that you are currently unable to collect an Edition due to delays in receiving or preparing stock or access restrictions.
Returns Policy (excluding Artists’ Editions):
Any unwanted goods must be returned including a receipt as proof of purchase and be in resaleable condition. We reserve the right to refuse to refund any item that it is not in a good resaleable condition. We cannot authorise a refund for any goods without proof of purchase.
In cases of goods that are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, please contact
editions@ica.art to organise returning the goods to the Bookstore. Where you cannot return goods in person, we recommend that you use registered post or recorded delivery to return goods to us to ensure safe delivery.
The Bookstore shall use reasonable efforts to replace damaged or incorrect goods, but if replacement is not possible, or if an order is cancelled for any other reason, we will only be obliged to refund the full amount paid by you. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Artists’ Editions:
Please note that by purchasing an Edition you are agreeing to our Additional Terms & Conditions of Sale as listed on this webpage.
Please note that prices are subject to change. As is traditional in Edition publishing, prices may rise as an Edition begins to sell out.
All Editions sales are final and we are unable to offer refunds if you change your mind.
Additional Terms & Conditions for Sale of Limited Editions (‘Artwork’)
1. IntroductionThese terms & conditions (‘Terms & Conditions’) apply to the sale to you by the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) of any limited edition print or any other piece of artwork (the ‘Artwork’) by any artist (the ‘Artist’) either at the ICA’s premises or through its website.
2. Title and RiskAs soon as the purchase price is paid in full, you will become the legal owner of the Artwork and, upon such payment, you will be responsible for the Artwork and the risk of damage to or loss of the Artwork will pass to you.
3. Ownership of the Artwork Copyright
3.1. The Artwork was specially commissioned in conjunction with the exhibition of work by the Artist and the ICA. The Artist has worked closely with the ICA to produce the Artwork on the strict understanding that it will be available for purchase exclusively through the ICA or any other outlet approved by the ICA. It is the Artist’s expectation that the Artwork will not be purchased for resale and will be retained by you for your own personal enjoyment. Specifically, you may not sell or offer for sale the Artwork on any internet based auction or other website.
3.2. Copyright of the Artwork remains the property of the Artist.
3.3. You may not produce any image of the Artwork and may not, at any time, publish or submit for publication or reproduction any image of the Artwork to any third party, including any internet website for any purpose.
3.4. If you breach any of your obligations under paragraph 3.3 you agree that:
a) The payment of damages will not be a sufficient remedy to compensate us or the Artist for your breach;
b) We may, and the Artist may, apply to the court for an order to prevent you from continuing to breach your obligations under these Terms & Conditions; and
c) We may, and the Artist may, contact the operation of any internet website on which the Artwork is being offered for sale or on which an image of the Artwork has been placed by you or at your direction, and instruct such operation, on your behalf, to remove any such offer for sale or image from any such internet website.
4. General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), with your consent, we may collect, hold and use your personal data obtained from you in the course of your purchase of the Artwork. This personal data will be used strictly for the purposes of administering the sale of the artwork to you, for our financial records, for historic records to show which Edition has been sold to which individual, and to be disclosed to the Artist if you breach your obligations under these terms & conditions.Your consent to us collecting, holding and using this personal data will be obtained as part of the paperwork for purchasing an Artwork. Your personal data will only be accessible to the ICA Staff responsible for the sale of the ICA Editions and the ICA Finance team for the purpose of invoicing. Any financial information like invoices will need to be stored for the statutory designated period and your personal data might form part of this information. We also store records of Artwork sales for the purposes of our Archive. If you would not like your data to be part of the Archive, please do let us know when filling out the paperwork for purchasing an Artwork.
If at any point you believe the information we hold on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information and even have it corrected, deleted or anonymised. Your point of contact at any point in time to update, change or query the data we hold on you is the ICA staff member responsible for the sale of Editions.

We make no representation or warranty of any kind whatsoever, express or implied, in connection with the Artwork. The ICA and its staff, shareholders or agents exclude all liability (whether in contact, tort or otherwise), to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, for any loss or damage that may result to you or a third party in connection with the Artwork.
6. Rights of Third Parties
No person other than you and the ICA have any rights under these Terms & Conditions other than in respect of paragraph 3 above which confers a benefit on the Artist and is intended to be enforceable by the Artist.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Disputes arising in connection with this legal notice shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
