Arriving home drunk one night, Dante viciously attacks Joy, his wife, in front of the couple’s six-year-old daughter. To protect herself and her child, Joy flees to file a complaint with the police. As she journeys from station house to clinic to courtroom, Joy’s search for justice constantly comes up against Dante’s struggle to evade it – and against a system weighted firmly against her.
