In 2011, Tottenham born Mark Duggan was shot and killed in a ‘Hard Stop’ by the Metropolitan Police, sparking the most violent riots in British History.
For 28 months, Director George Amponsah filmed around Duggan’s home in Tottenham, capturing his family’s distress and focusing on two of his friends Marcus Knox-Hooke and Kurtis Henville. The documentary follows the men closely as they attempt to move on with their lives, talking about the discrimination they experience on a daily basis and the impact Duggan’s death has had on the community.
Following the screening, director George Amponsah and co-writer Dionne Walker will participate in a discussion and Q&A with Stafford Scott, Marcus Knox Hooke (The Hard Stop) & Jude Lanchin (Bindmans Solicitors) enabling audience questions and discussion.
This screening forms part of the programme accompanying War Inna Babylon: The Community’s Struggle for Truths and Rights.
