Rose (Ann Skelly), a university student, desperately wants to uncover the truth about who she is and how she came to be. An adopted child, she finally tracks down both the name and number of her birth mother (Ellen, played by Orla Brady). Now all she has to do is pick up the phone.
The latest film from Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor (Helen, Mister John) is a dark, disturbing and uncanny thriller. Featuring brilliant performances from Skelly and Brady, it’s a film about identity and integrity, tension and release, discomfort and catharsis – and ultimately about the human condition and our need to understand who we really are.
