ICA is closed from the 30 May – 3 June inclusive.
Four friends, teachers at the same Copenhagen school, are stuck in a midlife rut. Their chosen collective solution is unpredictable, unexpected, even extreme. Inspired by the untested theories of an obscure Norwegian psychiatrist, they decide see if they can find greater freedom and happiness by maintaining a constant level of alcohol in their blood – at home and at work, morning, noon and night.
Winner of this year’s Oscar for Best International Feature, Thomas Vinterberg’s latest feature is every bit as surprising and audacious as one would expect from the director of Festen and The Hunt. The fine ensemble cast includes Mads Mikkelsen as Martin, one of the four middle-ageing men who commits to starting an experiment that no one quite knows how to stop.
